All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be the peace of your children. Isaiah 54:13
Last week was our church's Vacation Bible School. I really love VBS. I confess I look forward to it starting around April and May. And believe it or not, at the end of the week, I usually get on Lifeway's website to see what the theme for the next year will be. Speaking of which, in 2009, Lifeway is giving churches two themes to choose from! Woo-hoo! (Seriously excited woo-hoo, not sarcastic woo-hoo) I have been so blessed to be with the coolest women every single year and have made many new friends at our large church through VBS that I may not have otherwise known. I am always blown away by the teenagers they put in our room to help us out. Bless their hearts, they are grunts and they know it. But, they serve with happy hearts - running their skinny little booties all over our church for us. PLUS, they make VBS fun and cool for the kids by making up cheers to yell in the halls as we move from activity to activity. They are awesome and make me proud of our youth ministry.
Unfortunately, our VBS experience was somewhat abbreviated this year. On Tuesday morning, Emma woke up with fever. I sent Allison to VBS with a family member and decided to watch Emma at home. Long story - but basically, she had pink eye and a double ear infection. Friday we were all clear to return to VBS, and I was just thankful we got to go back at all. Emma was excited to go back and see all of her friends and her sweet teachers.
When I think about VBS, I think of lots of things; two of the most significant involve my dad and my husband. Both men in my life gave their hearts to Jesus at VBS. I never forget that. Bottom line, I love VBS. I'm thankful my mom worked in it and took my brother and me every single year and I thankful to be taking my girls now. God is good.
This is Mrs. Keri, who also taught Emma's Sunday School class when she was going through separation anxiety (around 6-12 months old) and taught Emma's class when she was in the nursery for her first VBS. This year she taught Meagan in her first-ever VBS experience. Miss Keri treats all the babies like they are so, so special and I love her for that.

Neat! I never knew that about Mark and your dad. And I didn't know Keri taught Emma and now Megan. Megan looks like a little doll in every picture. Precious.
