A Little Gift

It snowed in Houston yesterday. Beautiful, big, fluffy snowflakes gracefully falling down. The sight was amazing. I was as excited as a little girl. And the sound...I think it's one of my favorites. The sound is like no other. I stood for a few seconds in my driveway and took it in. It sounds so neat - listening to snow fall. We used to go skiing a lot and I always loved that sound of snow falling down...so peaceful. While I was taking it in, I could hear the delightful screams of kids all over the neighborhood - I'm not joking.

Anyway, my girls had so much fun running around the cul-de-sac and throwing their heads back to catch the snowflakes in their mouths. So sweet.

And the best part was last night. I tucked Allison and Emma into bed and said, "Can y'all believe that snow?!"

And they both just giggled and smiled. And then Allison: "Mama, I think Jesus did that just for us. I think it was a little present for us, because He knew we wanted it so bad." And with that, she had given God the glory for this gift.

So, I guess I have another favorite sound - my girls praising Jesus. Yep, that one's my favorite.
