Almost Two

My Meagan is almost two. I just read the sweetest post by Sarah about her little man, who is two. You'd have to read it, but bottom line, I'm going to be saying, "She's two" to myself a lot.

Meagan does get away with more than her big sisters did, but rightfully so - sometimes I think I was a little too hard on them. Mainly, I mean that my expectations were too high. Two is still a baby. That's not to say that that same sweet baby can't choose to be a little toot at times, defying and testing the limits of her mother while looking her square in the eyeballs. Oh, she can and she does. But, she is still a baby and these past almost two years have gone by sooooo, so fast. Around this time two years ago, my blood pressure was high and we were trying to figure out if it was a one time thing or if I had developed pre-eclampsia. Pre-eclampsia was the verdict.

So, it is time for me to get on the ball planning Meagan's birthday party. First order of business is finding a Sesame Street bouncer for cheap. She loves Sesame Street, (Sunny Day, a she calls it) but in the past month or so she has taken an obsessive liking to "Barbie and the Twelve Dancing Princesess."

"Bobbie, On watch eet?!" (Translation: "Barbie?! Wanna watch it?") is what she says as she brings me the dvd case.

This is much to her Daddy's sorrow and disappointment. We got a lot of Barbie going on in this house. Now the man does love to watch his Meagan dance along with Barbie, but practically memorizing "Barbie and the Twelve Dancing Princesses" was not on his bucket list, know what I mean? There's a part of me that thinks a little pink dancing princess themed party would be sooo cute and we have the cutest little outfit Meagan could wear and everything, oh it would just be the cutest party ever. But, we are only at the beginning of the princess obsession stage and so why should I rush it? We'll probably do princess next year and Sesame Street this year.

In other news, the girls have decided they want to be Texas Tech cheerleaders for fall festival (halloween...a rose by any other name...blah blah blah). It should be fun.
