Today Meagan started Mother's Day Out; "skoo," as she calls it, for the first time ever. I was not sure how this was going to go for our Meagan, but she does well at Sunday School, so I thought she should be fine at Mother's Day Out.
We got to meet her teachers on Tuesday and Meagan LOVED that. She loved the TOYS! She didn't want to come home when it was time. Yesterday we were driving by her school and Allison pointed it out and said, "Meagan! There's your new school!" Meagan said nothing, and I thought it was because what Allison said could not compare to the state of peace and calm Meagan had at that moment listening to her Bible songs, sucking on the binky, with one hand holding the sippy cup (her baba) and the other holding her silky.
We got about a mile down the road and Meagan pulls out the binky, taps Allison on the shoulder and says, "Allison, I can't wait my skoo!" And she continued to talk about "skoo" for most of the day.
We practiced lying on her new nap mat, which she absolutely LOVES because the part she lies on is pink minky and that is exactly the fabric her silkies are made of.
She did great when I dropped her off. So proud of her "pack pack," and telling every adult we walked by "Hey, wook at my pack pack!" The pack pack is seriously almost as big as her. But, she wanted it on HER back. She looked so stinking cute!
I thought about her all day long. I kept checking my phone and my watch, and had the strange sensation I was missing something all day long. I was glad to finally go and pick her up.
Her teacher said she was an angel and the best napper in the class. They said they could tell she loves her nap mat and she got along very well with the other kids. I'm so glad.
The sweetest thing about today was how Meagan's big sisters tried to make this morning special by talking up preschool and loving on her and wishing her a good day. Emma was borderline emotional about the whole thing and kept saying, "Oh, Meagan, I can't believe it's already time for you to go to preschool. I wish you would stop growing!" (Where has she heard this???)
Enjoy the pictures. My baby is growing up.
