Words

I love words. Words can be so powerful, valuable, life changing, course altering. They can also be mind-numbingly, pull-your-hair-out BORING, or can be side splittingly, dr.-pepper-out-your-nose hilarious. And with all the words in the English language, I hear that ours is still somewhat limited when compared to other languages, especially the Bible's Hebrew and Greek languages. I find that so amazing and interesting.

I also love music. It may have even more power over the human emotions. When coupled with the right imagery, music can draw tears or laughter over a bucket of popcorn and a shared soft drink between you and your date.

Today I was in the car at Kroger and it was so cold outside. I dreaded getting out and dreaded more getting my girls out. Emma was finishing her cheese sticks and I thought this was the perfect excuse to just stay in the car a few minutes more. I started listening to the song on the radio and the words. The words were the kind that made me stop and listen hard. And I listened hard until I finally just closed my eyes and let the words wash over me. At Kroger. It's just good. If you haven't heard the song, try to listen to it sometime. It's called How He Loves and it's by David Crowder. I found the lyrics on a website called Popular Lyrics. I hope the words encourage you as much as they encouraged me.

He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all

He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

We are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
So Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way…

He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
