Honesty...

After Emma broke Meagan's heart today in the car by reluctantly shoving a bag of crackers in Meagan's lap, I told Emma she needed to apologize. And she did. Meagan, still crying, said, "It's okay, Emma. I'm okay. Mommy, I'm okay, Emma's sawwy."

I told Emma I know she didn't want to share the crackers, but we have more at home and we'll be right back. The point was that the way she did it hurt Meagan's feelings. Meagan got the crackers, but her feelings were still hurt.

After a few minutes, I thanked Emma for apologizing. She said flatly, "You're welcome. But I really didn't want to."

So, we talked a little bit more about doing the right thing even when we don't want to and how that can make us feel better.

When it comes to parenting, who's teaching whom? I learn so much from these girls.

You're such a good mommy to be able to communicate these lessons with your daughters. <3
