Summer is here!

Summer is here...all the signs say so. For one, it's hot as blazes. And the countdown til the last day of school has begun in this house. I am as eager as Allison. We went on vacation the weekend before last and I think that started my summertime mentality. I'm ready to have no schedule and nothing pressing to get to. I want to pick up and go to the pool whenever we want. Or to Pottery Barn Kids to watch my kids play kitchen with their super cool kitchen stuff and then on to the train. Getting together with my friends who don't live on my side of town will be MUCH easier without school schedules and after school commitments.
Last weekend was fun. Busy but fun. Friday night was date night at church after soccer practice. Andrea (our cousin) came to watch practice, so we snagged her and took her along for our date night. We got seated in the "romper room" section of Outback, I assume because we had Meagan with us. The food was good and we had a good time visiting. Allison had her last soccer game Saturday and the next day there was a huge soccer party for all the kids who participated. The kids had a blast. Pizza, inflatables, face painting, 3-legged races, etc... Plus, Mark made a lot of progress on his latest project: the fence.
Our fence was here when we moved into this house and it probably needed to be replaced then. If we had been smarter, we'd have asked the previous owners to take care of it before we moved in. But, anyway, he is replacing the fence and it looks SOOOO much better. From my chair at the dinner table, it looks like there's a completely new fence all the way around the yard. The new fence ends just to the right of my view from that chair. We think the yard is much happier with its nice, new fence.
Here are a few pictures of the last few days...
