Random

So, today I was hurriedly trying to get Meagan in the car and buckled so we could get Emma off to school. And Meagan is always talking and usually telling me about something she wants. Loudly. And almost in a panicked tone. It kinda drives me crazy. I'd be lying if I said it doesn't get on my nerves, just a little bit. So, we've been working on this because she has to learn to tone it down and I have to learn not to get on the panic train with Meagan just so she will zip it.

So, she is loudly and in her panic tone telling me about something she wants and I calmly tell her, "Meagan, do you know what I would like? I would like some quiet time. How does that sound?"

Without blinking an eye, she repeats her want, this time whispering. I wanted to laugh my butt off! And she was so totally trying to please me! I didn't laugh at her, though. I whispered right back to her and we whispered to each other for about 5 minutes until she got sick of that and started to use her regular voice.

On another note, the last two days have seen some marked improvement around our house on many fronts. Thank you Jesus. I hesitate to write much more than that, but I will say I feel like we are all getting our life back around here.

I ran across these photos from our last trip to the ranch. These actually turned out better than I had expected. I wish I knew what I was doing when it comes to photography. Instead, if I get a decent shot, I just celebrate and wonder what I did right to get it.

Coffee on the front porch...a tradition for my Allison Jean. When I see pictures like this, I realize how much her swollen, fresh out of bed face still looks the same as when she was a baby.

View from the stand (out the front window.)

View from the stand (out the side window.) I think I like this view even better.

And the view immediately to my left. Emma's not in the picture because she's in my lap. That's right folks, all 5 Wiggy's in one deer stand. The family that hunts together stays together.

And two of my favorite shots. I just love these.

And the windmill. It's old. My dad loves this thing. I like the way the sun is hitting the tree tops and the windmill.

Country road, take me home.
