Meagan's Tricks

Mostly for my own benefit - so I don't forget - here are Meagan's tricks.

At eleven months of age, Meagan...

*claps when others clap or say, "yea!" She even claps when we are watching political stuff and the audience shown is clapping for John McCain.

*says Mama, Dada, bye-bye. And it has to be said, she said mama FIRST!

*waves bye-bye and also raises her hand and sort of says, "hi."

*gives awesome open-mouth kisses when you ask for sugars.

*pats whatever is close to her if you say, "pat, pat."

*uses her pointer to point to any and everything.

*stands up unassisted for a few seconds at a time a few times a day. I'm pretty sure she's a few months away from walking and that's just fine with me.

*understands the word "no" and DOES NOT like it.

*lays her head on your shoulder if you say, "love, love."

*uses her mouth to make all kinds of noises on purpose - she makes a clicking noise; makes pooting noises; puckers her lips and smacks like she's kissing something, and also makes fish lips.

*is 26 inches long and weighs only 14 pounds and 5 oz. Don't let her size fool you. She is a firecracker.

In twenty-eight days, my baby girl will be one year old. It seems like it's been 6 months. I am blown away. I have written every developmental thing on the calendar, but have yet to crack the baby book. Pathetic, I know. And to think, I just HAD to have that thing bought before going to the hospital to deliver her. Oh, well...I will get to it eventually.
