One day, when our house is quiet and it's just Mark and me, I wonder if I'll wonder, "What did it used to be like? When all the girls were still here, what did I do all day?"
So, here's what's on my mind today...kind of a laundry list of what's going on...in case I forget.
*Meagan. Meagan needs to be potty trained. Her hiney is super sensitive, always has been, and got the absolute worst case of red hiney ever on Monday. It lasted three days. She pooped 4 times on Monday and it just tore her hiney up. It was horrible, and I felt so sorry for her. It didn't matter how much desitin or Boudreaux's I used. So, she just needs to be potty trained because, basically, I feel sorry for her butt.
Meagan is learning lots of new words and phrases. My least favorite is "OKAY!" which she uses pretty disrespectfully. So, we are replacing that with "Yes, Ma'am" and she's getting better at that. Today, for no reason, Meagan pressed into me while I was holding her, like she wanted me to go from holding to hugging. I loved it. And we hugged for a long time, right there in Kroger.
Meagan is friendly to everyone. This makes us very popular with strangers. She is the friendliest of all the Wiggins girls. The other two were friendly too, but Meagan loves people. Already I wonder how God wants to use that in her life.
*Emma. Well, she was mad at me today after school because I had lunch with Allison at her school, and this was "not fair." We had a talk about love and how love is not jealous. When she ignored me a few minutes later, I kindly told her she needs to get her heart right. I suppose she did, although she did let me know about 2 minutes later that I put less than ever in her lunch box today AND I forgot to put a note on a napkin for her. Now, I know this is all very negative...so I will end on a positive note. Emma did not want me to put braids in her hair this morning, but willingly let me do it with a happy heart. She also has shown lots of love to her sisters all day long.
Yesterday I went to Emma's school for a little craft lesson, of sorts. The look on Emma's face while I did the lesson was priceless. It was sort of like: "That is MY mama!" So sweet.
Emma will be graduating from kindergarten in a week. This will be very sad to me. The reason is because when I think about Emma, in my mind she is three.
Allison. I had lunch with Allison today and she spent the first few minutes with her back to me talking to her friend. That was weird. She is growing up. I was preoccupied with Meagan, somewhat, for part of that time, but I still noticed. I didn't point it out to her, I kind of wanted to see how it was going to play out. It didn't last long, and then I spent lunch talking with Allison and the friends she sits around. All her friends think Meagan is fabulous. Meagan ended our lunch at the Christian school with a little act, where she was on all fours on the floor, with her hiney in the air, trying to do a roll over, which was more of a side roll over. It was spiced up with some moves where she would raise one leg at a time into the air. The third graders thought it was special and laughed at her, which Meagan really loved and took to mean the audience wanted more. Allison thought it was hilarious.
Allison has been very helpful around the house lately. She likes to do chores and I am thankful for all of her help. One day this may change, so it's probably good that I am documenting this. Allison is reporter of the week at school and she spent a lot of time and effort putting her report together. It is dynamic and charismatic. If school were all about performances and oral reports, Allison would be valedictorian. Unfortunately, it is not. But that's okay. She does fine anyway.
Allison has been working on "choreographing" a dance to a Jonas Brothers song. It is something else. It's pretty dramatic. Allison loves to dance. And she dances with a smile on her face, except with the Jonas song. Allison also likes to teach dance class, with her younger sisters as her students. She's a pretty good teacher. Meagan loves "dance class."
To sum up, Emma just came in and announced Meagan has a dirty diaper, and she really stinks. Did I mention Meagan needs to be potty trained?
