Flip Flops

My friend Karie and I were shopping back in January and got our girls the cutest flip flops on sale at the Gap. I gave them to my girls on Valentines Day and today Allison was wearing hers while we did errands at her favorite store: Target.

Allison and Emma really love flip flops. And I do too. Flip flops are the easiest shoes ever! Who knew the gap between the big toe and the second toe was put there by God for the flip flop?! The girls and I get all excited about our new flip flops every spring.

So, Allison was flip-flopping through Target, so to speak, and really liked the sound she could make if she slammed her foot on the floor. It sort of made a "slap" noise. A pretty delightful sound, I have to admit. So, she procedes to spout out, "Slappity, sloppity, flippity, floppity." To which I replied, "Oooh, Allison, we need to go with that! Those are wonderful words! We could write a poem about flip flops using those words!" We're working on it. She was giving me some pointers on brain storming that she's learned in school.

I'm so glad Allison likes words! I think Emma's turning out to be the same way. Maybe Meagan will, too - but for now, she really likes her binky, her silky, and Murry from Sesame Street. She scrunches her shoulders up to her ears when he comes on and the music starts. It could be her first crush!

Enjoy this slappity, sloppity, flippity, floppity weather my friends!
