Randomness, again.

Yes, more randomness. So much weird, wacky, funny stuff happens around here on a daily basis and I wish I could document all of it, but it would take all my time. And I haven't been the most faithful blogger in 2009. But, it's not for a lack of things to write about, believe me.

So, Friday night was Allison's birthday party which we had at our house. I generally do not love birthday parties at my house because it gets crowded really fast. But, we had 10 girls and it was a blast, I have to say. We had a faux sleep over. Meaning, I emailed the girls' moms and invited their girls to a "Pizza and Pajamas" party from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. So, they arrived in pajamas, we had pizza, did fingernails, had craft time, put on boas and did Little Sally Walker, (Thanks, Aunt Shanna, for bringing the boas!) enjoyed hot pink cupcakes and had popcorn while watching Princess Diaries while the moms picked their girls up. We mostly stuck to inviting cousins with the exception of a couple of girls she has known basically since before she was born (which means I've known their mamas for at least half of my life). I'll try to post pics tomorrow. Too tired to mess with it tonight.

Emma is going through life kicking butt and taking names, these days. A little boy from her school recently made her mad. She told him on the playground that if he messes with her she's going to give him a knuckle sandwich. When he asked what that is, she balled up her fist and showed it to him. He laughed. She concluded, "Mama, I don't think he understands what a knuckle sandwich is." He better watch it or she might school him.

Meagan fell on the sidewalk last week and has her first skinned knee. I promise, it is no exaggeration that Allison was probably 4 years old before she had a skinned knee. Emma was probably 3. Meagan did not even cry. She sort of gave a strong sigh/snort out of her nose and ruffled her eyebrows and just kept on going. I could not believe it, especially since I did the mommy thing and gasped and snatched her up immediately to survey the damage. Sweet baby knees.

The girls are having a blast playing soccer. And I am having a blast watching them. I have turned into a big mouth soccer fan. I had to apologize to the dad I was sitting next to this past Saturday. Not only was I loud, but I was also shrill. I got louder and my pitch got higher the closer Emma got to the goal. Every time. Worse was the fact that this dad wasn't even watching the same field as me. We were next to each other but facing opposite directions; his son was playing on the field directly behind me. Mark was watching Allison's game which is on the complete opposite end of the park. I wonder if he ended up having to sit by a woman like me over there. Probably not, I would have heard about it by now.

Today I was working out at the gym, listening to my ipod and watching Fox News on the closed-captioned monitor in front of me. More than once I let my thoughts fly out of my mouth, probably loudly since I had the little earphone things in my ears. When the DOW fell below 6900 I blurted out, "You've got to be kidding me." The lady to my right looked over at me. I bit my lips to keep from laughing. She probably thinks I have turrets.

Friday I had errands to run before Allison's party. I was blessed (I do not used the word "blessed" lightly here) to be able to run the errands without the kids because it was Mark's Friday off. I got so much done in so little time. But, by the time I was finished, I had declared it "International Toddler Screaming Day" because there was at least one toddler having a kicking, screaming fit in each store I visited. The good news was that none of the toddlers were mine, so I let it roll off my back...or through my head.

That's about it for now.

You failed to write about how YOU did Little Sally Walker and how YOU "shook your booty." Girl, that was THE BEST party of the whole party. At least for me. :)
